John T. Arms
John T. Arms was born in Dauphin, Pennsylvania in 1924. He attended Boyer Memorial High School in Halifax, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Shippensburg State Teachers College in 1947. During World War II, Mr. Arms served as lieutenant in the United States Navy and was awarded a Purple Heart. Following the war, Mr. Arms taught high school math and science before working in research at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He passed away on May 13, 2016. This scholarship was established through a gift to the Centre Foundation from his estate.
