	Friends and Colleagues of Dr. Bennie S. Truax This endowed scholarship was established by friends, colleagues, and former students of Dr. Bennie Truax in honor of his retirement from Shippensburg University in 1995. Dr. Truax served as the Director of Bands at Shippensburg University for 24 years. He also served as a faculty member of the Music Department and chaired it for his last 14 years of service. Dr. Truax encouraged the building of leadership skills and the development of self-discipline in students.
