Jere R. Holman
Dr. Jere R. Holman graduated in 1960 from Shippensburg State Teachers College with a degree in biology. He received his master's degree in zoology from the University of New Hampshire and a doctorate degree in botany-ecology from Utah State University. His academic career included teaching at several institutions including Towson State University, Utah State University, The University of Calgary and the State University of New York at Geneseo. Dr. Holman credits his experience on the Shippensburg University campus for his love of reading and exceptional life-learning experiences, which compelled him to establish this scholarship to touch the lives of future teachers who will enter the classroom with a strong background in mathematics or science to prepare our youth to compete in the global marketplace.
