Dr. Ray and Mrs. Marjorie Sunderland
Ray and Marjorie Sunderland have dedicated their lives to education. Ray, a 1954 alumnus of Shippensburg University, retired as Director of Student Teaching & Certification from Kutztown University where he was a full professor of education. Marjorie graduated from Shippensburg University in 1953. She retired from Reading Muhlenberg Area Vocational Technical School where she served as a reading specialist.
Ray and Marjorie have been lifelong educators serving 42 and 30 years respectively. In recognizing the need for quality trained educators who have an understanding of the world in which they live, the Sunderlands established the Dr. Ray and Mrs. Marjorie Sunderland Study Abroad Scholarship. Ray and Marjorie believe this scholarship is their way of thanking Shippensburg University for the high-quality education they received that helped them develop their careers.
