Social Work Advisory Council
Dr. Robert L. Hewitt, Professor Emeritus of social work at Shippensburg University, retired in 2008. He held the positions of full professor and field practicum coordinator for undergraduate social work field education. The Social Work Advisory Council and the Social Work and Gerontology faculty and students chose to honor Dr. Hewitt by renaming this scholarship in his honor to acknowledge his 21 years of service to the Shippensburg University social work community. His teaching, mentoring, and leadership skills were the guiding force in instilling social work values, ethics, knowledge, and skills in countless developing professional social workers in south central Pennsylvania.
