Dr. Robert N. and Mrs. Mary Louise Richards
This scholarship fund was established in 1996, by the family of Dr. Robert N. and Mary Louise Richards at the time of their 50th wedding anniversary to honor their parents' dedication to athletics and academics. Friends and colleagues of Dr. and Mrs. Richards also participated financially in the establishment of this endowed fund.
Dr. Robert N. Richards, Sr. served as Team Physician and Orthopedist to Shippensburg University's Red Raider football program since 1975. His dedication and service to student-athletes was formally recognized by the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers Society in 1991 when he was presented the Team Physicians' Service Award.
Dr. and Mrs. Richards were avid supporters of all Shippensburg University sports programs, both men’s and women's, for more than two decades.
