Joseph W. McCrae
Joseph W. McCrae graduated from Shippensburg State Teacher's College in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a major in English. During his time at Shippensburg, he was a member of the Campus Christian Association, Mixed Chorus, Men's Chorus, Campus Reflector, French Club, Masquers, and Veteran's Club. Prior to his enrollment at Shippensburg, Joseph served in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Joseph furthered his education with a Master's in Education from Temple University in 1955. For thirty years he taught in the Bristol Township School District near Philadelphia. His combined appreciation for his Shippensburg experience and his students at Bristol Township moved him to establish this scholarship.
