Norman E. Greenawalt
Norman Earl Greenawalt graduated from Shippensburg State Teachers College in 1932, received a master’s degree in geography from Clark University, and worked as a high school principal and geography teacher before joining the U.S. Army during WWII. Postwar, he worked for the State Department and the CIA, retiring from the CIA in 1970 as chief of the cartography division. This scholarship was established at the time of his death through Mr. Greenawalt's estate.
