Erma Gunter, Pamela Gunter, and Jill Kaufman
This scholarship was established by Mrs. Erma Gunter, wife of Dr. Alfred V. Gunter, and his daughters, Ms. Pamela Gunter and Dr. Jill Kaufman, to memorialize his devotion to higher education. Dr. Gunter joined the Biology Department faculty in 1964. During his tenure, Dr. Gunter served as departmental vice chairman for many years and worked with the Franklin Science Center building construction committee. He was the acting chairman of the department at the time of his passing.
