Dr. and Mrs. Robert C. Harper

Robert C. Harper graduated from Slippery Rock State Teachers College. Although he began college majoring in Math, he quickly shifted his interest to Geography and to History. A Master of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh enhanced his interest in regional geography.      Bob began his long teaching career in the South Butler County Joint School system. The final 28 years of his career were in the Geography/Earth Science Department of Shippensburg University. He demonstrated his versatility by teaching Cultural Geography, the Geography of the United States and Canada, World Geography, Geography of Europe, Economic Geography, Historical Geography, Cartography, and Transportation Geography, and supervising students during their internship.
Betty Brock Lawrence Harper graduated from Winchester High School in Kentucky. She graduated from Eastern Kentucky State and attended the University of Pittsburgh and The Pennsylvania State University. She retired after teaching 28 years in the Shippensburg School District.
