Children and grandchildren of Dr. Thomas Smyth
Dr. Smyth was the chairman of the science department and professor of biology at Shippensburg State College for 17 years. He retired in 1964. Dr. Smyth graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1920 and received his master's and doctorate degrees from Cornell University. He was a published poet, having written eight volumes of poetry.
