Marsha A. Hoy
The Guy and Virginia Hoy Scholarship Fund was established in 2011 by Guy and Virginia’s daughter Marsha Hoy.
The fall of 1986 was the beginning of Marsha’s participation in the Red Raider Marching Band as a member of the Silk Squad. Like many parents of band members, Guy and Virginia made the two-hour trip to Shippensburg to see their daughter, and watch the home football games, a sport both of them enjoyed watching. Their favorite spot was the 50-yard line. Guy and Virginia traveled to Shippensburg for games for three years, 1986 through 1988.
Staying connected to Shippensburg University was important to Marsha following graduation. Over the years, Shippensburg became a second family to Marsha. She volunteered for the Shippensburg University Foundation, and served on the Alumni Board and the John L. Grove College of Business Advisory Board.
In 2009, Guy was diagnosed with lung cancer, he succumbed to the disease before he could celebrate his 50th wedding Anniversary with Virginia.
