Judy Graham Bogart and Donald Bogart

In 1968 Judy and Don met on a blind date while Judy was attending Shippensburg State College, and Don was enrolled at Penn State University.   After graduating in 1969, Judy and Don married and moved to California. Judy may have left Shippensburg, but Shippensburg did not leave Judy. Shippensburg State College gave Judy such a great foundation for her career as a teacher, educator, and administrator that both Judy and Don wanted to establish a scholarship.  They feel strongly that education is important in developing young people's minds, broadening their worldviews, and providing livelihoods. It was the education they received that broadened their thinking and opened their hearts. They have had successful careers - Judy as an elementary teacher, advisor, and school principal for over 38 years for the Los Angeles Unified School District and Don as a mechanical engineer at Boeing.
As lifelong learners, they each earned two Master’s degrees and traveled the world experiencing new adventures and educational journeys. Don taught part-time at local university and also volunteered his time teaching math to high school students.
