Shirley S. Byers-Gingrich
Education has been a driving force for much of Shirley S. Byers-Gingrich’s life. Shirley graduated from Shippensburg State College in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. As a student, she was very active in various school activities, including the band and orchestra, choir and chorus, The Cumberland, the Lutheran Students Association, and Pi Nu Epsilon, the honorary music fraternity. She continued her education at the University of West Georgia where she received her Masters of Science degree. For many years she had a successful and fulfilling career as an elementary education teacher for the Coweta County School System. Shirley’s dedication to and love of education will live on through this scholarship.
