Ralphine and Gary Gentzler
Ralphine and Gary Gentzler attribute their successful personal and professional lives to the education they received. Ralphine graduated from Shippensburg State College in 1961 with a degree in Education. After 24 years, she retired in 1999 from the Sycamore School District in Cincinnati, OH. Knowing firsthand the power of education, Ralphine remains completely committed to educating students. Gary, who retired from Gentzler Associates in 2000, also realizes the essential role education played in his successful engineering career.
After their fulfilling professional careers, Ralphine and Gary felt a need to “give back” which is why the couple has established The Ralphine and Gary Gentzler Scholarship. It is particularly important for Ralphine to create a scholarship that would benefit first-generation college students because, like many of Shippensburg’s students, she was the first in her family to graduate from college. They both understand the financial difficulties that many of today’s students face and realize that many students who don’t necessarily have the financial means still deserve a quality education like the one Ralphine received at Shippensburg.
The Ralphine and Gary Gentzler Scholarship will make a positive difference in the lives of Shippensburg University students who will benefit in perpetuity from their generosity.
