Christopher K. Hawk
This scholarship was established by Christopher Hawk '05 in memory of his friend, Steven E. Ketterer. Steve was a brave, genuine, unique, and fun-loving person. His spirit was one of a kind. He had the wit and sarcasm that kept you laughing. He had the care and concern that kept you comforted. His adventurous, happily nomadic tendencies led him to embrace everything; skiing, hiking, skydiving, and even backpacking through Europe alone. Steve's laugh (or chuckle) was infectious. He loved to have fun whenever and wherever he was. Ever since early childhood, Steve saw beauty in everything from people to nature. He was always willing to help anyone in need, including complete strangers.
Steve spent a lot of his time in Shippensburg, visiting many of his friends who attended the University. While at Shippensburg, Steve built many friendships and continued to touch many with his fun-loving, generous, and lovable personality. This personality and his spirit for adventure will benefit Shippensburg students with the opportunity to travel and study abroad, one of Steve's greatest passions in life.
