Richard L. Rovegno and Karen Jassund Rovegno
Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. and Karen Jaasund Rovegno established the SU Alumni Textbook Grant Fund in 2013. Both graduates of Shippensburg University, the Rovegnos have continued to support the university since their graduation, and they are committed to expanding the opportunities available for Shippensburg University's students.
Richard graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Shippensburg in 1978. Upon graduation, Mr. Rovegno continued to develop Rovegno's of Carlisle, Inc., a contracting firm specializing in restoration and adaptive reuse renovation projects which he founded before graduating from the University. In 1983 Mr. Rovegno expanded his business activities to include Rovegno Properties and Rovegno Real Estate Partners, which are both involved in the acquisition, renovation, and management of real estate. In 1999, Mr. Rovegno entered the political realm and was elected a Cumberland County Commissioner.
Karen Jaasund Rovegno graduated from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1978. Upon graduation, Mrs. Rovegno joined the management team at AMP, Inc., an international manufacturer of electronic components, where she advanced and enjoyed a 21-year career in management.
