Stanley and Augie Walker
This scholarship is established in memory of Germaine Klaus by Mrs. Augie Walker '59 and her husband, Stanley Walker. Mrs. Walker majored in Education (Social Studies) and minored in Spanish at Shippensburg University. She remembers fondly her Spanish classes taught by Germaine Klaus, the only foreign language professor at Shippensburg at that time, who taught all three of the foreign languages offered, and who served as the advisor for the Foreign Language Club. Ms. Klaus is remembered as a professor who held her students to high standards. Mrs. Walker credits the teaching of Germaine Klaus to her own successful career as a Spanish teacher and therefore established this scholarship to pay a special tribute to Germaine Klaus for the significant impact that she had on the lives of those she taught.
