Barbara B. Cross
Barbara B. Cross graduated from Chatham College for Woment and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring as Lt. Colonel after 25 years of service. She graduated from Shippensburg University with a master’s degree. Lt. Col. Cross has dedicated her life’s work to public service through her military service, community volunteerism and work as the Chair of the Board of Cumberland County Commissioners. Patriotism, leadership, and an unselfish dedication to give of oneself have contributed toward the establishment of this scholarship. But it is leadership that is the cornerstone upon which the foundation for this scholarship was built, and Lt. Col. Cross’ desire that Shippensburg University continues to educate and prepare future leaders.
