Robert B. and Barbara F. Bartos
Dr. Robert B. Bartos and his wife Barbara Bartos believed that educating others and sharing one’s talents is a way of life. Dr. Bartos was the former Dean of the College of Education and Human Services. A mentor and educator, he established Shippensburg University academic programs and collaborated on doctoral programs with Duquesne and Widener, championed literacy in the public schools, and served as the graduate school dean.
Mrs. Barbara Bartos volunteered for many endeavors, including maintaining a veterans’ cemetery, serving on the Carlisle Area School Board, the board of the Fashion Archives and Museum at Shippensburg University, and promoting the historical significance and beauty of Cumberland County. They created this scholarship to assist students who demonstrate academic promise who are enrolled in the College of Education and Human Services.
