William R. and Carol O. Schleig
Bill and Carol Schleig established the William R. and Carol O'Brine Schleig Educational Scholarship to assist students pursuing an undergraduate degree from the College of Education and Human Services.
Carol Schleig graduated from Shippensburg University in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and in 1969 with a Master in Education. She taught both elementary and gifted education in the Harrisburg City School District for 33 years. After retirement, she supervised student teachers for Penn State University.
Bill Schleig graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and in 1974 with a Master in Education. He taught mathematics and was a guidance counselor in the Harrisburg School District for 27 years. In addition, he taught mathematics at Harrisburg Area Community College for 20 years. He also retired from the United States Army with 27 years of service.
Bill and Carol decided to establish this scholarship as their way of giving back to Shippensburg University.
