Brian and Teresa Wentz
When Larry and Joyce Wentz drove their oldest son, Brian, to Shippensburg for his freshman year of college in the fall of 1985, they had no idea how familiar that drive would become. During the next 11 years, three Wentz siblings would attend and graduate from Shippensburg University. Brian and Troy graduated with B.S.B.A. degrees majoring in Accounting in 1989 and 1992, respectively, and Robin graduated with a B.S.B.A degree in Marketing in 1996. Over the years, the Wentz Family has developed a strong bond with the University.
Brian began his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen & Co. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer for the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, a non-profit organization in Baltimore, Maryland. Troy also began his career in public accounting and is currently the Business Manager for Hanover Public School District in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Robin worked in the minor league baseball industry as a Marketing and Media Relations Director for several years before taking her current position as an International Shipping Analyst at CMA COM (America) LLC in Norfolk, Virginia.
The Wentzes always stressed to their children the value of obtaining a quality college education. While they were able to contribute to their children's college costs, none of this would have been possible without generous donors who provided scholarships to the Wentz children. In thanks to all those who contributed to their success, the Wentz Family has established this scholarship to enable future Shippensburg University students to pursue their college dreams.
