Jerome Dean, Gwen Durham Jackson, Wanda Polk Bankhead, Charles T. Bailey, and Alston and Alida Ellis
This endowed scholarship was established by a group of Shippensburg University alumni to provide financial support to Shippensburg University students of underrepresented populations, so they have the opportunity to pursue their dreams of a college education. Members of the group include Jerome M. Dean ’82, Wanda Polk Bankhead ’80, Gwen Brown Durham Jackson ’78, ’82M, Charles T. Bailey, Alston M. Ellis ’03, ’07M, and Alida K. Ellis ’04. Several members of the group entered Shippensburg University by way of the ACT 101 program, and all have a deep connection and love for Shippensburg University. This annual scholarship is intended to support upper division students who have proven a strong desire to earn an undergraduate degree from Shippensburg University, but require financial assistance to achieve their goal.
