David O. McCain III and R.L. Louisa McCain
David McCain ’84 graduated with a master's degree in business administration. A native of Alabama, David held a variety of positions in the corporate world before acquiring Electromet Corporation in Hagerstown, Maryland, in 1986. The move suited his independent entrepreneurial spirit and followed a five-generation McCain family tradition of owning and developing businesses. Prior to the divesting of the company in 2018 and retiring to his farms in Alabama, he served as President and CEO of Electromet Corporation for over three decades. Through his ownership, the organization is highly successful and serves some of the largest companies in the aerospace and defense industry. Based in Hagerstown, Maryland, with a plant in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Electromet Corporation has acquired several companies and increased its workforce while astutely adapting to market and customer needs.
Mrs. Louisa McCain, a graduate of the University of Alabama, is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. She is a partner in a family-owned, residential apartment business in Birmingham.
