Richard D. Stone
Dr. Richard D. Stone, former Professor of Marketing and Logistics, established the Dr. Richard D. Stone Women's Basketball Scholarship in 2010.
A native of Boston, Dr. Stone grew up in Somerset, Massachusetts. He received his undergraduate degree in Management from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, in 1968. He earned an MBA with a concentration in Transportation at Indiana University in 1974, followed by his Ph.D. in Transportation and Marketing at that same institution in 1988. It was there that he developed what has become a life-long passion for basketball.
Dr. Stone joined the John L. Grove College of Business at Shippensburg University in 1996. During his first year at Shippensburg, several members of the basketball team were his students. He soon became their number one fan and since then has been an avid supporter of SU Women's Basketball, even traveling out of state to show his support for the student-athletes.
