Charles and Jane Diller
Mr. and Mrs. Diller grew up in south-central Pennsylvania. Mrs. Jane Eagle Diller graduated from Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School in 1967, and Mr. Charles “Chuck” Diller graduated from East Pennsboro Area High School in 1963. Educated at Chaffey College and California State Polytechnic University, Mr. Diller earned both an Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degrees. Following his studies in the field of accountancy, Mr. Diller achieved recognition as a Certified Public Accountant in 1973. Until 2000, Charles H. Diller, Jr. served JLG Industries, Inc. in various capacities, most recently as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Director. In this position, with responsibility for all administrative and financial functions of the company and its foreign operations, Mr. Diller played a vital role in the growth of the company. JLG Industries, Inc. is the world's leading producer of access equipment (aerial work platforms and telehandlers). The Company’s diverse product portfolio encompasses leading brands such as JLG(R) aerial work platforms; JLG SkyTrak(R), Lull(R) and Gradall telehandlers; and an array of complementary accessories that increase the versatility and efficiency of these products for end users.
Prior to joining JLG Industries, Inc., Mr. Diller was an Audit Manager and Computer Audit Specialist with KPMG Peat Marwick. He also served both in the United States and abroad as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. In both settings, Mr. Diller’s talents and dedication led to various promotions and recognition of his exceptional performance of duties.
Mr. Diller is involved with various professional organizations including the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the Financial Executives Institute. Shippensburg University also benefits from his expertise through Mr. Diller’s service as a member of the John L. Grove College of Business Advisory Board and as a speaker for various student organizations. During the graduate commencement ceremony in December 2014, Mr. Diller was recognized for his outstanding contribution to Shippensburg University with an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree.
Mr. Diller spent the majority of his professional career working for JLG Industries, Inc. which was founded by one of the Commonwealth’s most successful entrepreneurs, John L. Grove. During that time, he played a key role and saw firsthand how a spirit of entrepreneurship, given the right conditions and financial backing, could reward creativity, serve a need, and turn a profit for all the stakeholders.
Mr. Diller is committed to helping students in any discipline at Shippensburg University, but specifically in the John L. Grove College of Business, develop as entrepreneurs by providing the necessary support and learning environment which will encourage entrepreneurship.
