Duaine and Trudy Collier

Duaine ’72 and Trudy Collier established the Collier-Walker Cheerleading Scholarship in recognition of their daughter Crystal's participation and continued commitment to the Shippensburg University cheerleading program.
The Shippensburg University legacy is strong in the Collier family as their daughter, Crystal Collier-Walker '02,'06M and son-in-law, Eric Walker '03M, are alumni too. "We know firsthand the transformative power of a Shippensburg University education," Trudy said. "We feel strongly that all qualified students should have access to the opportunities at SU to prepare them for successful careers," Duaine added. "This is the driving force behind our philanthropy and our volunteer activities."
In establishing this scholarship, the Colliers would like to recognize their daughter Crystal's lifelong connection to Shippensburg University. Crystal attended the Rowland Elementary Lab School and graduated from Shippensburg Area Senior High School. She continued her education at Shippensburg University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 2002 and a Master of Business Administration in 2006. Crystal was a cheerleader as an undergraduate at Shippensburg University, and, following her graduation, she began coaching cheerleading, starting in youth sports and then as the coach at Shippensburg High School. In 2014, Crystal took on the role of SU cheerleading advisor/coach at her college alma mater.
In a continuation of family philanthropy and support of the local community, the Colliers have established the Collier-Walker Cheerleading Scholarship with a vision of perpetuating cheerleading and elevating it within the SU athletics program while making it a premier NCAA cheer squad.
