Joel R. Zullinger
Janet Hollar graduated from Shippensburg State Teachers College in 1940. She was passionate about teaching and began her career that same year in the one-room schoolhouse in Pigeon Hill in Quincy Township, Franklin County. From 1943, until her retirement in 1978, she taught Elementary School for the Shippensburg Area School District. By the time Janet retired in 1978, she had taught and touched the lives of generations of students and had mentored 24 student teachers from Shippensburg University.
This scholarship has been established by Janet's son, Joel Zullinger, also a graduate of Shippensburg University, in honor of his mother's contribution to the Shippensburg Area School District and her work forming the minds of hundreds of young people.
