Albert "Skip" Carey
Albert (Skip) Carey received his D.Ed. in counselor education at Penn State University. He was the first counselor educator hired at Shippensburg in 1967. Skip helped select additional faculty members for the counseling program and taught from 1967 to 1987. As one of the original faculty members, he proposed pursuing accreditation through the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and was instrumental in the program becoming one of the first CACREP accredited programs in the country.
Skip and his late wife, Eileen (Chipper), value education and want to help make it possible for young people to pursue a teaching career.
