Rick and Linda Knepper

Rick Knepper began his lifelong goal of teaching when he enrolled in the education program at Shippensburg State College in the fall of 1968. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in social sciences and a minor in history in 1971 and a Master of Education in 1975. Rick’s career spanned nearly 35 years, during which time he taught social science, history and driver education classes at his alma mater, Southern Huntingdon County High School. He was recognized as the district’s 2004–2005 Teacher of the Year.

Linda (Potts) Knepper enjoyed a fulfilling career in nursing, retiring after 30 years of service.  She later worked as a Tourism Information Counselor for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a position that enabled her to combine her passion for helping others with her interest in the tourism industry.

The Kneppers enjoy attending shows at the Luhrs Center and supporting other events on campus. While you will find them rooting for various Raiders athletic teams, their enthusiasm for and loyalty to the men’s basketball program is central to their decision to endow this scholarship. As a Raiders Club board member, Rick is keenly aware of the important role scholarships play in  the success of student-athletes both on the court and in the classroom. The Kneppers are grateful for the opportunity to offer support to future student-athletes by endowing the Rick and Linda Knepper Men’s Basketball Scholarship.
