Alice J. Buehner
Alice was a library science and English major at Shippensburg University. Pursuing a double major required her spending most of her years at Shippensburg studying, but she also participated in a service sorority and various other college activities. Her fondest memories are meeting friends at the CUB, dinners with friends in the dining hall, having fun in the dorm, and studying in the library.
Upon graduating in 1976, Alice returned to her hometown to begin her teaching career as a junior
high librarian. After twelve years, she accepted the challenge of teaching English to ninth and tenth graders at the high school. With 32.5 years of teaching, she retired to help her oldest daughter with her business.
Shippensburg provided Alice with an excellent education that included her love of books. She is so very proud to be able to assist Shippensburg students with their education and future opportunities.
